David has 35+ years of experience as a research scientist in sensory function and has become a leading expert in adapting existing laboratory hardware and software to measure various aspects of olfactory function and behavior. In the past 13 years, David has developed and employed three generations of laboratory olfactometers and published over 75 peer reviewed papers on sensory function. David recently retired as a Professor of Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Florida, he was also a member of the Center for Smell and Taste. David is a graduate of the University of Michigan (PhD and MS) and Western Michigan University (MA and BS).

Dr. Keil is a leading expert in the use of electrophysiological recording (electroencephalography, evoked and event related potentials) and neural imaging methods to understand the brain processes mediating human perception and attention in healthy and patient populations. Dr. Keil is a Professor of Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience in the Department of Psychology at the University of Florida, where he is a close collaborator of Dr. Smith; their joint research has focused on the effects of cross-modal perception on neural responding. Dr. Keil’s research is funded by the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation and the Office of Naval Research.

Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Steve DeLellis served more than 36 years on Active Duty, with more than 31 years in ArmySpecial Operations Forces. Steve culminated his career as the Deputy Command Surgeon for the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), responsible for healthcare policy and strategic medical planning for the 30,000 warriors and healthcare providers of USASOC. Steve previously managed the longest, continuously funded Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) surveillance project in Army history and has co-authored more than 40 publications on TBI in Army Special Operations Forces. He is an Army Medical Department Iron Major, a member of the Order of Military Medical Merit, the 2019 United States Army recipient of the Henry M. Jackson Foundation Hero of Military Medicine award, and an inductee into the Special Operations Forces Hall of Honor, Inaugural Class of 2024. Steve has proudly served in Operation Just Cause, Panama, Operation Gothic Serpent, Mogadishu, Somalia, Operation Uphold Democracy, Haiti, Operation Deliberate Force, The Balkans, U.S. Embassy Duty, Manila, Philippines, and has participated in eleven rotations in Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom.
